With all the gun control constantly in the news and my little ole self being totally unable to cover all of it, I figured I'd try something new. Just put some of the most relevant stuff in one single article every so often to try and keep all of us on the same page in the fight for our right to keep and bear arms.
What's relevant in the world of gun control and idiocy today?
Beto and Biden:
Beto dropped out of the presidential race quite some time ago, but like a plump hemorrhoid, he's just not going away. Democratic presidential front runner Joe “I'm running for Senate” Biden has come out saying he'd name Beto the gun control guy if elected.
As you can imagine this wouldn't be good for us, though there would certainly be some roadblocks to Beto's gun confiscation plans, it doesn't mean they wouldn't try. And if you remember correctly, that's exactly what he said he'd do.
I believe his exact words, while keeping our blog family friendly, were: H.E. double hockey stick “Yes, we're going to take your AR-15s.”
Uh, no Beto … no you're not.
Moving on.
Gun Control Advances in VA:
Despite the Virginia pro-gun efforts taking place in January where 22,000+ patriots peacefully gathered to make their voices heard, while the industry at large was out at SHOT Show, multiple new gun control laws are advancing in the state.
While the gun ban was ultimately shot down, a few bills will be going to the governor's desk for his signature. The bills are as follows:
- red flag laws
- stolen or lost weapon reporting
- give more authority to localities for gun control purposes
- and others
It's interesting, as I sit here and write this I can't help but let my mind migrate to the third one in that list where he wants to give more authority to local governments, but only for gun control purposes. He refuses to let the Sheriffs not enforce the unconstitutional laws he's about to sign.
Hypocrite.
Gun Control Threats Mean Gun Sales Rise:
This one is actually good news if you're on the right side. It should come as no surprise that an election year will bring more gun sales. After all, there is uncertainty in how the election will go and the anti gun politicians aren't even hiding the fact that they don't want us armed,
They're even nice enough to “buy back our guns.”
Gun sales are up across the entire country, but some states have seen tremendous climbs in adjusted NICS checks.
In Virginia, for example, gun sales have climbed 63% just in that state just in February (over the same month last year), and the numbers were even higher in January while the debacle was freshly happening. The Commonwealth has historically been a very pro gun state and the people are rightfully worried.
Bloomberg Is Out:
More good news for us, is that we no longer have to listen Bloomy's anti gun ads for his presidential bid. He officially dropped out of the race after spending a healthy amount of money.
This is great news because he would have been terrible for the United States.
More Maryland Gun Control Introduced:
I'm not entirely sure how it could get any worse for the Old Line State, but anti-gun politicians are capable of all kinds of idiocy. The NRA reports:
Senate Bill 958 / House Bill 910 prohibits individuals from manufacturing, transferring, or possessing a firearm built with a 3-D printer. SB 958 also bans the manufacture, transfer and possession of so-called “undetectable firearms” currently banned by both Maryland and federal law. This legislation will do nothing to enhance public safety and instead relies on fear to advance an anti-gun narrative.
That, along with other measures are being introduced.
Maryland already has some of the worst gun laws in the country, and with a city like Baltimore, I'm not entirely sure how they can justify not letting good people protect themselves.
Conclusion:
We live in troubling times and it's only going to get worse for us unless we continue to stand up to the anti-gun politicians. If we ever lose our right to keep and bear arms, we're going to find ourselves up that proverbial, paddle-less creek pretty quick.
